No one wants to hear that they’ve just been in an accident, but if your vehicle is equipped with Ford’s SYNC 911 Assist, your vehicle can call for help on your behalf. Even in the worst case scenario, if you’re unable to call for help yourself, your vehicle will contact authorities for you. If you’ve set the system to “Do Not Disturb” or if you’ve disabled the Bluetooth functionality of the SYNC system, 911 Assist will override those settings during an emergency to place the call for help.

In a press release from earlier today, Ford announced a new feature for its Police Interceptor sedan and utility vehicle lineup. The factory equipped vehicles will be the first pursuit-rated police models in the United States to deliver ballistic protection from armor piercing rounds, up to Department of Justice’s (DoJ) National Institute of Justice standard Type IV. The Type IV panels are an additional option beyond existing ballistic protection...
